My husband Andy and I live in a village south of Sydney, Australia, with some of our eight children. I blog, podcast, speak, and write books about unschooling, sharing our experiences of homeschooling our children for more than 28 years. I also write Catholic novels for children, and family and grief stories.
Bringing up and educating our children can sometimes feel like a huge and lonely undertaking. We might wonder if we will be able to give our kids all they need. This conference will encourage parents, giving them the necessary confidence and information to raise their children in closely connected, loving and faith-filled families, ensuring that everyone grows and develops as God intends.
Unschooling: Becoming the People God Created Us to Be (CHC 2021)
I would like to share the story of how God led our family to unschooling at a time when I was overwhelmed by the demands of parenting and homeschooling. I discovered that unschooling isn’t a lazy and irresponsible option as I’d thought but is instead, a way of life that requires us to put out trust in God, and love each other unconditionally as we endeavour to become the people God created us to be.
